American Electric Co. dates back to 1897 with our first location in St. Joseph, Missouri. Our Garden City location started in 1975 & is currently located at 601 W. Mary Street. Boasting a drive through pipe yard & robust inventory we make it our goal every day to have the products you need to complete your jobs on time and below budget.

Geoff Karhoff - Manager

With over 10 years of product knowledge, Geoff moved into the manager role after spending 7 years as an outside salesman in Lincoln, Nebraska. Serving the Lincoln, Nebraska market as the Premier Lighting Distributor, Geoff has brought his knowledge of lighting to Southwest Kansas. Geoff along with his wife Holly moved to Garden City April 2018 with their son Brady & Basset Hound Roscoe.

Mike Fitzpatrick - Outside Sales

In 1977 Mike decided to try something new and began working in the electrical industry for an electrical contractor. During a slowdown in the construction industry he made another change and began work for an electrical wholesaler in 1978.

In August of 1980, Mike moved to American Electric and this year will celebrate his 40th year with the company. He started as a truck driver working his way up to quotations, counter sales, assistant manager and began his role in Outside Sales in 1985. A few years later he served as manager for an interim period before returning to sales where he has remained ever since.

Mike & his wife Rebekah raised two children, Joe & Erin, in Garden City and are proud to call Garden City home.

Jon Geurin - Outside Sales

Rosie Armstrong - A/P - Inside Support

Rosie has been with American Electric since 1997. After a decorated background working as a welder at Oswalts/Buller MFG she found herself then working at IBP as an equipment issuer. She got her start as a Warehouse Manager & has worked her way into handling Accounts Payable s as well as being great Inside Sales Support for our staff.

Rosie enjoys pickup up spares in her time away from American Electric.

Kyle Stillwagon - Counter Sales

Kyle began his career with American Electric in 2018, starting out making deliveries & working in the warehouse. Now working in Counter Sales, he prides himself the most on being able to help our customers get the best products at the best price.

Kyle and his wife Erin have a son, named Ryan, and 3 crazy dogs that keep their lives busy & interesting.

Curtis Fletcher - Warehouse/Inside Sales Support

Curtis started with American Electric July 2018 as the Delivery Driver. He has since moved in to Warehouse/Inside Sales Support. Curtis takes a very hands on approach to helping customers and enjoys being able to see a project completed from the ground up.

Curtis has 2 kids, Tanyon & Ayda, he enjoys working out and going to his kids sporting events.

Aaric Kipp - Delivery Driver

Aaric joined American Electric during the summer of 2019 as a summer intern through Pratt Community College. He officially started full time January 2020. He still attends PCC studying Modern Distribution Sales & Marketing. Making deliveries at American Electric will always be a step above the rest because Aaric strives daily to go above and beyond our customers needs.

In Aaric's free time he competes with the Pratt Community College E-Sports Team.
